Welcome to my site!

I was the graphic and web designer for Nettl Dunedin for 10 years, where I built many websites and created many designs. Most of the web and design-based clients have joined me in my new role as an independent designer and developer. I have also completed new projects, with many more underway.

My design influences come from many sources and styles, but I was heavily inspired at an early age by a love of vintage movie posters and vintage advertising. I enjoy many design styles, including mid-century modern design, Atomic-era industrial design, and minimalism - ultimately depending on my mood and inspiration at the time.

My design heroes are Saul Bass, Paul Rand, Milton Glaser, Aaron Draplin, and more.

I would describe my design style as being built around the following ideas:

• Designs should be functional across many mediums.

• Less is more.

• I’m creating visual communication, not art.

• I provide professional services, not “widgets”.

• Knowing and understanding my clients is critical to success.

I enjoy all aspects of design, and I like building lasting relationships. I find that true satisfaction comes from seeing a happy client excited about their project.

When I’m not working, I’m an avid gamer, enjoy spending time with my family, and my mental Labrador. My interests are too long to list, but I enjoy a conversation on just about anything.
